AEM International are delighted to have been involved in the appointment of Liz Wilson as Executive Director at the Oxford School of Drama. She will take up her new role in December 2017.
Liz Wilson was Chief Executive of York Theatre Royal from 2009-2017. Regarding her new role she said, “I am delighted to be joining The Oxford School of Drama. It is an outstanding drama school that has a reputation throughout the theatre, film and television sectors for its rigorous pursuit of excellence and its promotion of access. Training people to succeed as actors is as much about teaching the spirit of creativity as it is about developing the professional tools to thrive in the industry. The high percentage of alumni from the School who are in employment as actors is a testament to the highly skilled team of tutors and the strong and supportive ethos of the School. I look forward to working alongside Principal George Peck and his team in continuing the great work of the School in serving our industry with exemplary actors.”
Welcoming the appointment, the drama school’s chair of trustees, Peter Wilson-Smith also commented that the school is “thrilled to have someone with Liz’s long experience of theatre and arts joining” as executive director.
Liz’s predecessor in the role, Kate Ashcroft, will become Head of Marketing and Development for the school.
