Rebecca Holt appointed Chief Executive at Eden Court Highlands

AEM International are delighted to have been involved in the appointment of Rebecca Holt as the new Chief Executive at Eden Court Highlands.

Rebecca is currently Executive Director and Deputy Chief Executive at Battersea Arts Centre (BAC) in London.  She will succeed James Mackenzie-Blackman as the new Chief Executive of the Highland arts venue.

Regarding her appointment Rebecca Holt said, “I’m thrilled to be joining Eden Court, an organisation I have admired from afar for some time. Eden Court’s strong civic role in bringing creativity to communities across the Highlands, coupled with its artistic ambition across theatre and film, make it a truly special organisation.”

James Mackenzie-Blackman named Chief Executive of Theatre Royal Plymouth

AEM International are delighted to have been involved in the appointment of James Mackenzie-Blackman as the new Chief Executive of Theatre Royal Plymouth.  He will succeed Adrian Vinken and will formally take up the role in January 2022.  He’s currently the Chief Executive of Eden Court Highlands, Scotland’s largest single-sight performing arts venue.

James Mackenzie-Blackman said, “It is the honour of my career to take on the leadership of the organisation that defined the path my life would take.  I told my Careers Advisor at 15 years old that one day I wanted to run the Theatre Royal.  26 years later that ambition has become a reality.”

Samir Savant appointed Chief Executive of St George’s Bristol

Following the departure of Suzanne Rolt last month to Quartet Community Foundation, the Trustees of St George’s Bristol have appointed Samir Savant as the organisation’s new Chief Executive.  Samir will take up the role on 1 September, and joins from the London Handel Festival, where he has been Festival Director for five years.

AEM International are delighted to have been involved in this appointment.

Regarding his appointment Samir Savant said, “I am thrilled to accept this prestigious position and to build on the excellent work done by Suzanne and the team over the past fifteen years. I will miss the London Handel Festival of course, but I am proud of everything I have achieved over the past five years, culminating in our award-winning ‘Messiah Reimagined’ project.”

Marianne Locatori appointed new Chief Executive for Newcastle Theatre Royal

AEM International are delighted to have been involved in the appointment of Marianne Locatori as the new Chief Executive for Newcastle Theatre Royal.

She will join the prestigious Grey Street theatre from Theatre Royal Plymouth – where she is currently director of strategic projects – at the beginning of October and will succeed Philip Bernays who is retiring after 16 years at the helm.

James Pidgeon appointed Executive Director of Regent Park Open Air Theatre

AEM International is delighted to have been involved in the appointment of James Pidgeon as the Executive Director of Regents Park Open Air Theatre.  He will also become joint chief executive, alongside artistic director Timothy Sheader.  He will join the theatre on 21 June 2021.  James is currently Director of Shoreditch Town Hall.

Regarding his appointment he said:

“It is an absolute privilege to be appointed Executive Director at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre – I couldn’t be more delighted. I have long admired the ambitious work of this incredibly special theatre that plays such a unique and significant role in the cultural landscape of London and beyond, and I very much look forward to joining Tim in leading the organisation through its next chapter of growth and development.”
